Alrighty: it's 11;30 at night, and I'm procrastinating....I really should go to bed.
But I'm nervous. The heat is out in my studio (the kerosene is disconnected), and it is supposed to go down to 5 degrees tonight. 5 degrees!!! What kind of crazy state do I live in? And why, why don't I live in say, Savannah? Well, I guess I know the answer to that one; too many people for me, and not enough hills.
I've got both electric heaters on, enough to make me nervous - I had a fire experience once with an electric heater - but there really isn't any other option, because my paints are in there. If something happens to my paints, I don't know what I'd do...
It's tempting to drive up there to my house-in-progress (where the studio is) and just babysit them all night, but I don't know if I can stand hanging out in 38 degrees all night. The cats are in the heated part of the house, thank goodness, and there really isn't anything I can do about the studio, anyway.
OK, the real reason for the post: if you are searching for LLAMA LLAMA MAD AT MAMA, and can't find it, have no fear! They tell me we have LOTS in the warehouse, and they should be in bookstores soon. Yup, and so I hope, 'cause it is the holidays, and it is a very inconvenient time to sell out, I must say. Ah, but I will count my blessings.
Like, for instance, the fact that my paints will NOT freeze tonight, right....?
Hello! I just found your blog and thought I would let you know I just ordered my copy of Mad at Mama and can't wait to get it!
I saw the cover and laughed so hard! I just happened to be having a "day" with my 2 year old and just seeing the cover of your book just made my day!
Congrats on all the praise it is receiving!

I guess I'm lucky that we got our copy in time for the holidays. We LOVE this book so I ran to the library to get Red Pajama to tide us over until we buy it! Thanks for such great books.
